Cold weather crops allow you to feed your “inner farmer” without worrying about frost.  C’mon.  We ALL have an inner farmer, don’t we?  Just a few veggies in a container?  I thought so!  Read on and pick out your favorite vegetables for safe planting this month…

The two key words to remember when planting vegetables this month is FAST and EARLY.  You want them to grow asap because if they do not mature until late spring or summer, the taste is just not as good to put it bluntly.  In order to achieve best taste results, plant them TODAY and feed them with Evergreen of Johnson City’s All Natural Vegetable food to encourage quick growth.  Keep an eye out for killing frosts so be ready to cover them up when hard frosts or freezes and forecast.

Your best cold weather vegetable options include cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, Brussel’s Sprouts, broccoli, kale, mustard and the colorful Swiss chard!  Come pick a few favorites or a whole crop today.
