The EJC Sowing Circle is an unofficial group of patrons who prefer to sow their vegetables and flowers from seed.  There are lots of benefits to indoor sowing, including providing a fun and rewarding task for an often-dreary winter day.

When you start seeds this early, you’re going to have a longer growing season naturally.   This will give your flower or vegetable garden plenty of time to grow throughout the entire growing season.  Exposure to a sunny window is ideal but if that’s not an option, we have a variety of Gro Light options that supplement natural light, which is crucial for germination.  

We also carry a special soil designed for starting seeds, called Fafard Black Gold Seedling Mix. Check out our complete kits, too, that include biodegradable pots, a growing tray and even a humidity dome.  It’s a great time to start a new project and you may find that sowing seeds is a perfect fit for you!  Here are some of the options available that should be started this month:
